ホープ・チャペル 神の家

ホープ・チャペルは、日本人を愛し、素晴らしい宣教を行うハワイ・カネオヘの教会です。
彼らの多くは、日本語が話せない状態で来日して、仕事を持ちながら、ミニチャーチから教会を始めます。
今では、関東や関西、そして沖縄にも教会が開拓されています。

創設者であるラルフ・モア牧師は、教会にとって重要なことは形態ではなく、（キリストのからだとしての）機能であることを教え続けています。
それは、教会が宗教ではなく、神の家また神の家族であることを意味します。
そして、その希望に満ちた場所を治めて下さる方は、大祭司であるイエス様なのです。


そのホープ・チャペルには、ワイキキのカハラ・モールで日本語通訳付きの日曜礼拝があります。

へブル人への手紙　３章６節

父親に起きたこと２

１０月１７日、父親は風邪をひき、楽しみにしていた礼拝に集うことができませんでした。

翌日、僕が地下鉄に乗車しようとした時、母親から連絡がありました。
父が熱を出し、震えがとまらないというのです。
急いで帰ると、重ね着をした上に、布団と毛布を何枚も重ね、暖房も入れた状態でブルブルと震えていました。

父は、絶対に病院に行かないと言い張ります。
僕と二人だけで話をした後、「じゃあ、イエス様に祈ろう」と言って、手を置いて祈りました。父は「お願いします。アーメン。」と言うのが精一杯でした。
正直なところ、最悪の事態も脳裏をよぎった真剣な願いでした。

父は８４歳で、大きな手術を二度経験しています。
イエス様を信じた後も、病気になると、第一に病院に向かう人でした。
この日初めて、イエス様だけに頼り、癒しを願い求めたのです。

祈ってから２～３分で震えが完全に止まり、スースーと寝息に変わりました。
夕方には、熱も下がり（平熱ではありませんが）、おでこに保冷材を貼り、夕食の後にアイスまで食べました。
イエス様によって癒されたのです。
生まれて初めて、しかも、苦し紛れに願った、そのたった一度の祈りに主は答えて下さったのです。

イエス様の語られた、「からし種ひとつの信仰があれば」ということばが心に刻まれた出来事でした。

マタイの福音書　１７章２０節

Miracle! 33 miners were rescued in Chile.

When 33 miners who were trapped in a mine in northern Chile on 13th of Oct. (on 14th in Japan) were rescued safely, all the Chileans shouted for joy. How did they overcome their hard life under the ground for 69 days? According to the newspaper, most of 33 miners are Christians. One of them is an evangelical pastor, Jose Henriquez, collected the Bible, and had a service there. He knew something was wrong before the accident had happened. Mario Sepulveda who was rescued secondly said there were God and Satan near him but God drew him closer.

Satan tries to tempt and trap people to be unfaithful and disappointed. Satan whispers, “You can’t go on any longer. You are forsaken by God. Everything was over.” However, God who guides people to salvation says, “Don’t be afraid. I am with you.” I hope those who are in the midst of tribulation or disappointment believe God who guided this miraculous rescue and find out hope.

A plan beyond human understanding

Business Forum hosted by the Yomiuri Shimbun was held in Sapporo on 17th of Sep. This time Mr. Suzuki, Osamu who is the chairman and chief executive officer of Suzuki Motor Corporation was invited as a guest speaker. When he was asked about a scheme which has 50% of share in India, he answered, “When other motor companies in Japan turned to U.S.A., since we were minivan manufacturer, we became invisible. We used this frustration as a springboard, expanded our market to India, and became No.1.” From this story, we understand that he wanted to become successful in U.S.A. However, if he had expanded the market in U.S.A., Suzuki Motor Company was not like today.

Since Joseph revealed his dream, he was almost killed by his brothers and was sold to Egypt. This happening was completely different from what he had imagined but later on he became No.2 in Egypt and the dreams which were given by God was fulfilled. To be perverse sometimes yields a good result in our lives. Through Joseph’s life, Christians can learn invisible God’s hands are working even in the desperate situation.

What is left of a mission team from Hawaii?

When I was playing in a park in my childhood, I felt time flies so fast.

Hawaii team came to Sapporo and 11 days passed as quick as flash. What did they leave for us? Smile with Aloha Spirit. Happy time with God’s family. Sweet tones of Hawaiian music. Tearful goodbye hug.

Although God’s Son who was sent to this world by Heavenly Father is enough for us, the Lord, God sent the mission team from Hawaii to Sapporo. They brought God’s wonderful love to us.

Speaking of Hawaii

A mission team from Hawaii is visiting Sapporo right now. This is the wonderful time when Christians from Hawaii and Japan cooperate together and serve the Lord. What are the images of Hawaii? There are many bywords, such as Waikiki beach, Hawaiian music, Hula dance, and so on.

One of them is Kona Coffee which is popular among coffee fans. A tree of Kona coffee was brought to Hawaii Island by a missionary in the 1800s. In the early 20th century, the price of coffee beans dropped so beans had fallen into Japanese immigrants’ hands. They produced coffee beans scanty. 75% of coffee farmers were Japanese until recently. As a result, American missionaries and Japanese immigrants cooperated together so that the world-wide brand was produced.

When the mission team from Hawaii and our church in Japan cooperate together and build a church, new life will be produced. More than that, we should not forget that all the life is a gift from the Creator.

Prayer of the righteous

One of Church on the Rock pastors in India afflicted with high blood pressure in Sep. His wife also became sick. I asked prayer partners to pray for their healings. I received a mail from India within 1 weak. Both of them were healed.

Bible says. “Pray for each other.” We can experience that prayer by faith in any countries has a big power beyond the time. Hallelujah! Praise God who is alive and works all the time.

James 5:15~16

Those who build a bridge

Finally, a mission team from Hawaii is coming to Sapporo soon. They save money, take a leave of absence and come here. It’s impossible for Pastor Scott who is the leader to join this mission trip this time due to his situation. It was also hard to get their air tickets that they weren't able to prepare well compared with the past trip. However, they love Japan and come here to share Jesus.

They are the ones who build a bridge from Kaneohe, Hawaii to Sapporo. To have wonderful friends is precious treasures in our lives.

Proverbs 17:17

Who's sheep is this?

Jesus used a parable of sheep. People who heard this story couldn’t understand what it means. Sadly to say, even some of today’s Christians don’t understand it.

I’ll tell you 2 examples.

One of them is the one who draws nourished sheep (Christians) in different places or flocks to his or her place in various ways. He or she explains a reason which sounds like the truth but his or her motivation is not from God. The Bible says it is from flesh which is inherited from Adam because the motivation is to draw people to him or herself. God’s will is to share the gospel to non-believers, draw them to Jesus who is the head, and nurture and take care of them.
* The reason why I didn’t use the word, “other churches”, is churches are one body which is consisted of all the Christians. Usually, churches in Japan use this word, “other churches”, as people or churches which transfer other church members. When Christians take care of people who were out of heresy or cult groups, it is not applied.

Another example is a thief of sheep. I already told about this but all the Christians are a part of one body. It might be as small as a cell. If someone is out of Christian group, the word “a thief” is suitable but someone moves to different group inside of a Christian group, he or she is not stolen. The stance that a sheep is someone’s property is wrong.

If there are some Christians or churches which think like above in your area, it is difficult to become one or build up trustful relations. What the body of Christ needs is not to break up or disunite but to become one and love each other. The element of destruction or doubt has to be removed.

The one who believes Jesus and is born again is a sheep and the good shepherd is the Savior Himself. The one who paid a precious price for salvation is God. To discern the voice and follow Jesus are God’s and our joy.

John 10:14

インドの忠実なしもべ

２０１０年１０月４日　午後１１時　ヤコブ牧師は天国に凱旋帰国しました。
しばらくの間、彼と会えないことは寂しいですが、また、天国で会うことができます。

彼の内には、キリスト者としての男らしさが宿っていました。
彼は、インドCORで長老的な存在でした。
彼は、その地域に良い種をまき続けました。
彼は、家族を心から愛する者でした。
彼は、同労者から愛され、家族も教会の人々からも愛される人物でした。
彼の祈りは力強く、悪霊どもは震えあがったことでしょう。

そして、彼は、主イエス様を心から愛し仕える者でした。

僕が指導したいくつかの点は、彼にとって初めて聞く内容だったようです。
彼は、どちらかというと、保守的で新しいことにはなじめない性格でした。
しかし、それにも関わらず、彼は自分を変え、複数の新しい牧師を育て、複数の地域に教会を開拓しました。
ヤコブがこの地上に残した実は、これからますます大きく育っていくでしょう。

そして、イエス様は、こう語りかけて彼を迎え入れて下さったことでしょう。
「よくやった。良い忠実なしもべだ。」

地上での数年間、ヤコブとともに主に仕えたことを誇りに思っています。

マタイの福音書　２５章２２節～２３節

入国拒否と神の恵み

９月２１日に、日本でも有名なパリス・ヒルトンが、成田空港の入国審査で６時間の質問を受けた後に、入国を拒否されて、アメリカに帰りました。

彼女は、セレブであるとともに、ゴシップ誌の常連でもあります。
つい最近（８月２７日）も、コカイン所持のため逮捕されたばかりでした。

海外の反応も「有名人を特別扱いしない日本をリスペクトする」とか「よくやった、ニッポン」と良好のようです。
また、このニュースを聞いた日本人は、誰もが当然の結果と受け止めるでしょう。
むしろ、自分で罪を犯したにも関わらず、入国できると考える方が非常識ではないでしょうか。

これを神の国（天国）に置き換えると、どうでしょうか？
神様を知らない多くの人は、全ての人が神の国に入れないことに納得がいかないようです。
海外に向かう時には、自分で代金を支払い、自分の足で空港に向かわなければなりません。
しかも、今回のように、犯罪者は入国を拒否されるのです。
神様は、すでに代価を支払ってくださり、ただ、信じるだけで全ての罪を赦し、神の国に迎えて下さるのです。
それは、神様からの愛であり、恵みなのです。

主の恵みによって、赦されるために何も出来ない者が赦され、本来、入国拒否されて当然の者が喜びと祝福の中で招き入れられる。
天に名前が記されている事は、何と素晴らしいことでしょう。

チリ 奇跡の３３人全員救出

その瞬間、チリ全国民は、歓喜の声を上げました。

チリ北部で起きた鉱山事故により、深さ６００メートル以上の地下に閉じ込められた作業員３３名が、１０月１３日（日本時間１４日）全員無事生還したのです。
彼らは、６９日間に渡る過酷な地底生活をどのように克服したのでしょうか。

新聞の報道によると、３３人のほとんどがクリスチャンだと書かれていました。
その中に福音派の牧師ホセ・エンリケスがいたので、立て抗から全員分の聖書を取り寄せ、礼拝をしていたことが解りました。
彼は、事故が発生する前に異変に気付いたそうです。

２番目に救出されたマリオ・セプルベダさんは、私のそばには神と悪魔がいたが、私を引っ張ってくれたのは神だったと語っています。

悪魔は、様々な誘惑を仕掛けて、不信仰、落胆や失望に人々を閉じ込めようとします。
「お前はもうだめだ。神に見捨てられたのだ。すべては終わりだ。」とささやくのです。
しかし、人を救いに導く神様は、「恐れるな、わたしはあなたとともにいる」と力強く語ります。
試練や失望の真っただ中にいる方には、この奇跡の救出を導いて下さった神様を信じ、希望を見出して頂きたいと心から願います。

イザヤ書 ４１章１０節

人知を超えた計画

９月１７日に札幌で、ビジネス・フォーラム（読売新聞主催）が開催されました。

今回は、スズキの鈴木修会長兼社長が講師として招かれました。
シェアが５割近くのインド戦略について聞かれた時、「日本の他メーカーが米国に向かったとき、軽自動車メーカーだったため、見向きもされなかった。悔しさをバネにインドに進出し、シェア一位になれた。」と成功秘話を語りました。

この内容から、本心はアメリカでの成功を願っていたのではないでしょうか。
しかし、もし、アメリカに進出していたら、今日のスズキはなかったでしょう。

ヨセフは、ある夢を見たため、兄弟から殺されそうになり、エジプトに売られてしまいました。
彼の想像していたこととは全くかけ離れた出来事でしたが、後には、エジプトの王に継ぐＮＯ２となり、神様からの夢が実現するのです。

人生には、自分の思い通りにはならない方が、良い結果になることが多々あるものです。
キリスト者は、ヨセフの人生を通して、絶望的な状況でも目に見えない神の御手が働いていることを知ることが出来るのです。

創世記 ４５章１節～５節

ハワイチームが残したもの

小さな頃、公園で遊んでいると、家に帰る時間がとても早く感じたものです。
ハワイチームが札幌に来て、１１日間があっと言う間に過ぎてしまいました。
彼らは何を残してくれたのでしょうか？

アロハスピリットに満ちた笑顔
神の家族と過ごす団欒の時
ハワイアン・ミュージックの甘い調べ
お別れの涙と抱擁

父なる神が御子を地上に送ってくださっただけでも、僕たちには十分以上であるのに。
主である神が彼らを札幌に送ってくださいました。
何よりも素晴らしい神様の愛を届けてくれたのです。

雅歌 １章４節

ハワイといえば

ちょうど今、ハワイチームが滞在中です。
ハワイと日本のクリスチャンが協力して、神様に仕える素晴らしい時です。

みなさんは、ハワイといえば何を連想するでしょう。
ワイキキ・ビーチ、ハワイアンミュージック、フラダンスと多くの代名詞があるでしょう。
その一つに、コーヒーファンに大人気のコナ・コーヒーがあります。

コナ・コーヒーの木は、１８００年代に宣教師によりハワイ島に持ち込まれました。
２０世紀初頭には、コーヒー価格の大下落もあり、日本人移民の手に渡り、細々と生産されました。
つい最近までは、コーヒー農園経営者の７５％が日本人だったというから驚きです。
結果的には、アメリカ人宣教師と日本人移民が協力して、世界のブランドが生み出されたわけです。

ハワイ宣教チームと日本の教会が協力して、教会を建て上げる時、新しいいのちが生み出されることでしょう。
そして、何よりも全てのいのちは創造主からの賜物であることを忘れてはなりません。

コリント人への手紙第一 ３章６節～９節

義人の祈り

９月に入ってから、インドCORの牧師が高血圧に苦しみました。
また、彼の妻も、病気になってしまいました。
そのため、祈りのパートナーたちに癒しの祈りをお願いしました。

それから、１週間もたたずに、インドから連絡が入りました。
夫婦ともに癒されたという内容です。

聖書には、「互いのために祈りなさい」と書かれています。
時を超えて、どんな国でも信仰による祈りには、大きな力があることが体験できるのです。
ハレルヤ！　生きて働かれる神を賛美します。
