グランドデザインの素晴らしさ

シンガポールでいつも感じるのは、グランドデザインの優秀さです。

この国の玄関ともいえる国際空港は、２４時間稼動し、他の国へは入国せずに乗り継ぎが可能で便利です。
空港ターミナルは、ショッピングモールや無料映画館、また無料の観光手段まで用意され、まさに至れり尽くせりです。
様々な国へ出発するターミナル間の移動は、外に出る必要がなく、わかり易く設計されています。
これに加えて、タクシーやMRTを利用する料金は安く設定されています。
つまり、国の玄関と、国民生活、環境対策、経済政策が一貫してデザインされているのです。

しかし、神様のグランドデザインは、この世界の全てに勝っているものです。

創造主は、無から有を生み出され、それは人知を超えた素晴らしさでした。

創世記　１章３１節

異なる実

インドネシア、スンバワ島のビマで起きた出来事です。

その日、イスラム教全寮制学校の授業では、爆弾を自宅で作る方法が教えられていました。
実際に、授業中に爆発し、この教師は死亡、同校の校長は逮捕されました。

校舎内から、ジハードに関するビデオや書籍、エアライフル等が発見されたそうです。

まさしく、聖書にあるように、自分で蒔いたものを自分が刈り取ったわけです。

対照的に、神様から受けたものを蒔くならば、どんなに時間がかかったとしても実がなります。
その葉は、枯れることがなく主の栄光が現される結果となります。

詩篇　１章３節

東日本大震災・学者と想定外

被災直後には、政府のかじ取りがまずく、情報が混乱していたと報道されていました。
しかし、それ以前の問題として、専門家の「想定外」という言葉が耳に残っています。

ＴＶ番組で専門家の長く難しい説明が続きました。
その後、司会者が単純な（素人はそれだけ知れば十分）という質問を投げかけると、「それは今の地震学では答えられません」という返答でした。

どれ程、多くの口から「想定外」という言葉が連呼されたでしょう。
これは、日夜、研究に励む学者のせいではなく、むしろ、この世界の専門家とはそういうものなのです。

専門家は、何でも解明しているような印象を与えることは避けるべきですし、聞く側も
～博士、～研究所が言っているのだから絶対と考えるのも問題です。

神学も同じであることは歴史を振り返れば誰の目にも明らかです。
人間の研究には、想定外がつきものです。

主イエスは、弟子たちにとってすぐれた教育者でありましたが、
彼らを教室や机の上で育てたわけではありませんでした。
この世界という畑で、神のみことばは真理であることを体験させ、
意思も感情もあり、私たちを愛してくださる天の父を見せてくださったのです。

ヨブ記　４２章５節

路上の住人

札幌では、一見するとホームレスとは分からない人たちがいます。
身なりも整え、自立を目指して街角などで雑誌を販売したりします。
また、寒く長い冬があり、人数も少ないので、探すのも難しい程です。

一方、インドでも、ホームレスなのか見分けが難しい状況です。
それは、あまりに多くの人が普通に道端で寝ているからです。
それぞれの国で異なる事情があるのでしょう。

聖書には、本当の問題は心の貧しさにあると書かれています。
それを知った者は、幸いです。
なぜなら、救い主に出会う準備が出来たからです。

マタイの福音書　５章３節

New Chitose Airport – Renewal

Terminal building of New Chitose Airport will be reopened on 15th of this month. There will be many new shops, such as a movie theater, hot spring, and so on. It is reopened later than originally scheduled but we raise expectations after we wait so long.

Of course, the reason why the building is reopened is new change. No one enjoys at an old airport without changing.

We can say the same thing for a church. (Not a building but Ecclesia.) A church is a gathering of Christians. Old man refuses to change.

In Galatians, Paul warned people who tried to go back to the time they didn’t know God. The Spirit of the Lord doesn’t only remove our old veil from our face but also transforms us into the same image from glory to glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18

Serious incident and cover-up

There was a serious incident at HAC (Hokkaido Air System) last month. Air craft descended abnormally and was just about to crash into the ground if 4 seconds late. Japan Airline left the management from HAC and HAC restarted. This incident happened 4 days later. People make mistake and aircraft might have some troubles but the worst thing is they hid the truth and kept operating flights. As a result, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism investigated HAC and ordered them to improve operation and change administrators. After that, some flights were canceled because of aircraft’s failure so it caused to lose people’s trust.

The word of God tells us, “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil.” If people are afraid of a ruler although they do a good thing, it’s abnormal. On the other hand, if people don’t feel fear toward a ruler although they do a bad thing, they are paralyzed in sin. The Lord forgives when people repent.

God’s will is for people to follow God’s word from their conscience not because they are afraid of God. The conscience comes from a heart that received God’s grace.

Romans 13:3~5

The Great East Japan Earthquake – the devastated area and India

This photo is a slum area in India and it’s not a devastated area. I can’t think their life will change although thousand years will pass without Christ’s Second Coming. Also, I can say their heart, public safety, and hygiene are worse than the devastated area in Japan.

I come from a generation that knows nothing about war though my father was born in 1926 which is 15th year in Taisho era. I showed him a video of a slum area in India and he said it’s worse than postwar Japan. Japan recovered and grew rapidly after the war. Also, Japan recovered from the Hokkaido South East Earthquake in 1993 and the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995. Of course, these are the visible recovery and we can’t say people’s emotional damage, sorrow, and a sense of loss were healed. Some people can’t gather themselves up like damaged reed. However, God is possible, although people are impossible.

Now is the time Japan consolidates forces and be restored. I pray their soul and spirit be saved and healed by the only God.

Barnabas and Ralph Moore

This is a photo with Pastor Moore and his wife. Pastor Moore is like a coach who raises a faceless young player.

A good coach is the one who value the autonomy of the player and expand player’s potential by wise advice.

Joseph who was born in Cyprus gives advice, encourages and gives comfort to people in Acts. That’s why he was called Barnabas. He believed and accepted Saul who would be Paul later although Saul had persecuted churches.

For pastors in Hawaii and Japan, Pastor Moore is just like Barnabas. We can say Pastor Moore’s character is the same as the Lord’s.

The Great East Japan Earthquake – Samaritan’s Purse

I joined a humanitarian organization called Samaritan’s Purse and did a volunteer work in the affected area. This international organization brought 90 tons of relief goods in March and 40 tons of relief goods later on using U.S. jet fighters. They have been supporting victims. The President and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse is Franklin Graham and he also went to the affected area.

Japan has truly good neighbors. Jesus Christ gets near to us, care for us, and paid a price for us. Jesus tells us in Luke 10, “Go and do the same thing.”

Lord, more than anyone

Reiko Uehara’s concert was held at Pentecost service this year. Her singing, words, and testimony hit in our heart. (Another photo is an Okinawa dancing, Katyusha.) I can’t forget about one of songs, “Lord, more than anyone”, which was sung in the concert. This worship is perfect for her who experienced God’s burning love.

Although it was a hard time for her, she came to Sapporo. We could see that she is asking the Lord more than anyone and loving the Lord through her faith.

車と母と人生と

画像は、母親の車のメーターです。
教会の中古車より、一年、年式が新しいのですが、走行距離では上回ります。

僕が物心ついた時から、車を足代わりにしてきた母が、今年は車検をとらず、廃車にすることをほのめかしました。

以前は、車ばかり乗らずに歩くように言って来たのですが、逆に心配してしまいます。

誰にでも、そういう時がやってきます。

イエスキリストを信じ、告白した時から永遠のいのちが与えられています。
しかし、この地上での時には、限りがあり、時計の針は進んでいます。

人生の中でどんな状況、どんな時期であったとしても、主に信頼して生きる者は幸いです。

東日本大震災・妻と支援活動

画像は、妻が被災地で支援活動をしている様子です。
彼女の役目は、被災した家の泥をそうじし、また男性がはがした廃材を捨てることでした。

彼女は、それを喜んでいましたし、被災地に行くことを言い出したのも妻の方からです。
（１９９３年に北海道南西沖地震が起きた時も、彼女は奥尻に支援活動に行きました。）

彼女の内にある信仰を再認識し、主をほめたたえずにはいられませんでした。

新千歳空港・リニューアル

今月１５日、新千歳空港ターミナルビルがリニューアルオープンとなります。
映画館や温泉など、新しい企画が盛りだくさんです。

当初の予定よりやや遅れますが、待たされるとさらに期待が高まります。
もちろん、リニューアルするのは、「新しい変化」があるからです。
何の変化もなく、ただ古びて行く空港を喜ぶ利用者がいるでしょうか？

これは、教会（建物ではなくエクレシア）にも言えることです。
そして、教会とはキリスト者の集まりです。

人の古い性質は、変化を拒みます。
ガラテヤ人への手紙では、神を知らなかった当時に逆戻りする者に警告しています。

聖霊なる主は、以前の顔のおおいを取りのけるだけではなく、栄光から栄光へと変え続けてくださるのです。

コリント人への手紙第二　３章１８節

The Great East Japan Earthquake – What is humanitarian support?

A meeting of committee tasked with distributing cash donations was held in Tokyo at the beginning of June and 4 organizations which collect relief money such as Japanese Red Cross Worker’s Union joined it. About 270 billion yen (2 billion and 700 million dollars) was donated and about 80 billion yen (800 million dollars) was already distributed to each prefecture but how much and how was the relief money used for victims? The second distribution will be about 170 billion yen (1 billion and 700 million dollars) and at the meeting the government only decided they would distribute by damages. Each prefecture will discuss how they distribute the relief money to victims so it takes more time. The rest of the relief money will be retained.

3 months had already passed after the disaster. What took them too long decide on few things? For example, if the government tell the people who live in a slum area where there is no water like this, what will happen? “After we discussed, we decided to build a dam here and it’ll take 5 years.” Were people who heard this be able to have hope to live? Can the government help them truly? Society which can’t think properly brings a result which we lose people whom we can save.

No matter how this country thinks and how their common sense works, true Christians listen and follow the voice of the Lord and do some actions. Now is the time.

Pentecostal Day in 2011

Church on the Rock ministry started from the day of Pentecost in 1996. Today is the 15th anniversary for our ministry. Acts 9 tells us how churches spread out through Holy Spirit. The vision that I had received in Sapporo was confirmed by a prophet from Sri Lanka and fulfilled in India. We were so tired all the time that we flung ourselves but the Holy Spirit gave us power to move forward.

The Great East Japan Earthquake – locus of responsibility

No-confidence motion against Prime Minister Naoto Kan was rejected on 2nd of June. Catch-as-catch-can game of the government in this timing increases victim’s anger and is disagreeably surprised. The Great East Japan Earthquake itself is a disaster but human tragedy was added by a support after the quake.

In Genesis, human beings made a sin for the first time in history. At that time, Adam shifted responsibility to Eve and she shifted responsibility to a snake.

First, the Prime Ministry who has the power of decision has responsibility in Japan and secondly the Democratic Party which is a ruling party has responsibility. In a broad sense, people who voted to the Democratic Party also have responsibility. However, no one in this country carry out responsibility and the locus of it is still up in the air.

The Bible tells clearly responsibility of God who is a creator and people who were created. The one who fulfilled forgiveness of sin by the Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross is God. People need to repent our sins to receive salvation and believe the Savior.

What do people who were already saved do? The one who can go out to the world and become a witness of Jesus is only Christians. On the other hand, that’s the responsibility of churches. God tells us we need to receive the Holy Spirit to do that. 12th of June is Pentecost. We expect the Holy Spirit is upon us and burns us.

The Great East Japan Earthquake – God’s family

We do group living at a base camp in the disaster area. While we were there, even a married couple stayed in different tents. There are portable toilets and bathrooms so we could live comfortably but it was so cold at night that we woke up. I hadn’t exercised so much recently so I had a muscle ache. It accelerates me to go to a sport club.

However, the one who makes me forget everything is God’s families. They came from different places and churches and we spent a wonderful time together. We learned the word of God in the morning and prayed, shared, and worshiped God at night. It was a wonderful dreamy time.

There was a man whose relative was killed by the earthquake and Tsunami. I also was impressed by staff members who served with their whole strength although they were exhausted. (Later on, I found out one of them had pneumonia and 2 of them had a flu.) Young people who served devotedly gave me a dream that we can break the wall of Christian population which is 1 %.

When God’s family gets together whether it's in the devastation area, we can taste Heaven. Although the area is mass of debris, many dreams are packed in the recovery.

Ephesians 2:19

重大インシデントと隠ぺい

先月、ＨＡＣ（北海道エアシステム）に重大インシデントが発生しました。
機体が異常降下、あと４秒遅ければ地表と激突するところでした。
日本航空が経営から撤退し、再スタートから４日目の出来事です。

人は誰でも過ちを犯しますし、機材の故障もよくある事です。
しかし、この問題の重大さは、その事実を隠し運航を続けたことにあります。

結局、国土交通省から立ち入り検査を受け、事業改善命令と役員の入れ替え、その後も機材の故障による欠航が発生、利用者の信頼を失う結果となりました。

みことばは、こう語っています。

「支配者を恐れるのは悪を行うときです」

良いことをしているのに恐れるのは、異常なことです。
逆に、悪いことをしても恐れを感じないのは、罪に麻痺してしまった状態です。

主は悔い改める者を何度でも赦して下さる御方です。
また、神様のみこころは恐ろしいからではなく、良心から従う者となることです。
その良心は、神の恵みを体験した心から生まれるものです。
