橋をかける者たち

いよいよ、ハワイから宣教チームがやってくる日が近づきました。
彼らは、それぞれが貯金をして仕事の休暇を取りやって来るのです。
今年は、リーダーのスコット牧師が事情により参加することが不可能となりました。
また、航空券がなかなかとれずに、例年に比べて準備不足でもあります。

しかし、それでも彼らは日本を愛し、イエス様を伝えるために来るのです。
このチームは、ハワイのカネオヘから札幌に友情の橋をかける者たちなのです。

The happening at Narita airport

I’ll never forget the day on 23rd of March in 2009. Whenever I go abroad, I stay in a hotel near the airport the night before my flight. Before I checked out the hotel in the morning, I watched news on TV. A picture of the Narita airport was shown. A freighter of FedEx was bursting into flames on an airstrip. The freighter crashed while attempting to land because of heavy wind. When I arrived at the airport, all the airline company descended into chaos in front of a check-in counter. Business men were calling with their cell-phone, children who supposed to travel abroad with their family were crying, and workers of each airline company were preoccupied with responses to passengers. At that time, we found out pilots who were in the burning freighter passed away. Frustrating and screaming people in the airport calmed down when they heard the distressing news.

Usually, people get angry to airline companies or workers but at this time no one could blame them because precious lives were lost.

Bible says, “He who has died has been freed from sin.” Believing Jesus Christ is to be saved and also to bury himself who was a sinner. If our old man is crucified with Him, receive eternal life, and start walking with Jesus, we are appropriate for the saint who is loved by God.

Romans 6:6~7

Why are young people?

Churches which are called a new wineskin have some common points. One of them is to evangelize and raise young people. Let’s look at an estimate of population more than 65 years old by 2050. It’s 39% in America, 53% in Germany, 67% in Japan and 19% in India. India which has this phenomenal number is made a prediction of the biggest population in the world by 2025 but 46% of elementary school students in India drop out before they go to junior high school. Moreover, dalite children can’t go to school anyway.

Church on the Rock India holds a retreat for young people every year. This year many young people joined this meeting although it was on weekday. These young people are the hope of this country.

When parents have a baby, they are supposed to give their love, time, and money without stint until the child grows up. God desires Christian’s growth and keeps giving us many things without stint. Parents receive good reports when they make their children independent.

Proverbs 22:6

Faith and overconfidence

Do you remember a case of Ashikaga? This case aroused criticism about false accusation, investigative methods, and DNA analysis.

It was the sad event for Mr. Sugaya who was arrested in 1991 and he lost his time until he was released in 2009 and bereaved family who lost their daughter in 1990.

People sometimes think their own consideration or a scholarly aspect is absolute. We can say this case is a tragedy which had a series of overconfidence. True faith is the one which we have never seen, heard, and thought. (1 Cor. 2:9) The world can’t receive the one who shows it to us. (John 14:17) When a church trusts people’s interpretation, theology, or a visible organization, history proves it fails to make the same mistake.

If we ask God “Lord, talk to me” from our heart at any times and places, the Lord teaches and guides us all the time. The foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Various ~

I become acutely aware of inadequate pedestrian road in Indonesia. Not so many people walk on the street because it’s hot all through the year. What do they use to go anywhere? They have unique and various vehicles. This photo is a tricycle called “Becha”. The one which has “Becha” on a bike is “Becha machine”. A tricycle scooter is “Bajai”. (It’s an auto rickisha in India.) Also, they have a bike taxi, a mini bus, a taxi, and a horse-drawn carriage. (Wild camels and wild donkeys are added in India.)

Economic power in Indonesia is low among countries in South East Asia but rich people use an imported luxury car with a driver and poor people use “Becha” or a horse-drawn carriage. They can choose their transportation which suits their lifestyle.

It is generally said all-Japanese-are-middle- class mentality. We are careful not to be different from others and don’t like being unique. This is one of the causes which is difficult for low-income earners or vulnerable groups to live in Japan. Is there a reason to do as everyone else does? What’s wrong with being you and me whatever the other people are?

God created all the people in this world as an original existence. It’s O.K. to be various lifestyle, belongings, vehicles, and so on. It is changed from lifestyle going along with the crowd or comparing with others to lifestyle living by God’s children and our own value. This is the adequate lifestyle for the one who has faith and walks in the Spirit.

Galatians 3:26

その羊は誰のもの？

イエス様が羊のたとえを語られた場面があります。
聞いていた人は、何のことか理解できなかったようです。
とても残念なことですが、今日のクリスチャンにも理解できない人がいるようです。

その代表的な例をここに二つ取り上げます。
その一つ目は、他の場所、他の群れで養われている羊（クリスチャン）を様々な手法を使い、自分のもとに連れてくる人たちです。
そのような人たちは、もっともらしい理由を説明しますが、自分の方に引き寄せるという動機は神からのものではありません。
聖書の言葉では、肉の思い（アダムから引き継いだ思い）となります。
神のみこころは、まだ救われていない人に福音を伝え、かしらであるイエス様に結び付けることだけを目的として、育成し、お世話をすることです。

＊他の教会と表現しない理由は、聖書では、教会は全てのキリスト者で構成されている一つのからだだからです。通常、日本の教会で使われる用語では、他教会のクリスチャンを転会（籍）させる目的の人たち（あるいは教会）となります。
これに該当しないのは、異端やカルトと呼ばれる集団から救出して、自分たちがケアーする場合です。

二つ目は、「羊どろぼう」という考え方です。
＊欄で説明しましたが、すべてのキリスト者は一つのからだの各部分です。（あるいは、細胞ほどの大きさかもしれません。）
キリストのからだに属さない外部に連れ出されたのでしたら、盗人という表現は適当ですが、何らかの事情で、自分たちの群れから、他の場所の群れに移動した場合は、盗まれたわけではありません。
むしろ、羊のことを自分の所有物と思う考えの方が誤りです。

もしも、同じ地域内でこのような誤った考え方をするクリスチャンや、教会が存在するなら、真の一致や、信頼関係を築くことは困難です。
キリストのからだに必要なのは、愛と一致であり、分裂や不和ではありません。
お互いの関係を壊すことや、疑いを持たせる要因は取り除かれなければなりません。

イエス様を信じ、新生した者は、羊であり、その良い牧者は救い主ご自身です。
救いのために尊い代価を払ってくださったのは、神様です。
羊がその声を聞き分けて、イエス様にまっすぐについていくことが、神様と私たちの喜びです。

ヨハネの福音書 １０章１４節

成田空港での出来事

２００９年３月２３日は、決して忘れることのできない一日となりました。

いつも、海外に行く時には空港近くのホテルに前泊します。
朝にチェックアウトの用意をしていた時、なにげなくTVのニュース番組を見ました。
すると、これから向かう成田空港の映像が流れていました。
FedExという航空会社の定期貨物便が滑走路で炎上していました。
強風に煽られてしまい、着陸に失敗した惨事でした。

空港に着くと、各航空会社のチェックインカウンター前は、大混乱の状態でした。
ビジネスマンはあわただしく携帯電話で連絡をとり、楽しい家族旅行に向かうはずの子どもは泣きだし、各社の地上職員は対応に追われて声をからしていました。

そんな時に、機内に残された操縦士は遺体で取り出されたことが空港内に知れ渡りました。
それまで、いら立ち、声を荒げていた人たちも、悲報を聞いた瞬間に静まりました。

普通は、航空会社や社員に対して怒りの矛先が向けられるのですが、誰も責めることはできなかったのです。
なぜなら、尊い命が失われたからです。

聖書は、「死んでしまった者は、罪から解放されている」と語っています。
キリスト・イエスを信じることは、救われると同時に、過去の罪人である自分が葬られたことを意味します。
古い自分に死んで、永遠のいのちを得て、キリストによる新しい歩みを始めるならば、私たちは、神に愛された聖徒と呼ばれるにふさわしい存在なのです。

ローマ人への手紙 ６章６節～７節

なぜ、若者なのか

新しい皮袋と呼ばれている教会には、いつくかの共通点があります。
その一つは、若者に福音を伝え、育てることです。

各国の２０５０年までの６５歳以上の人口予測を見てみましょう。
アメリカ　３９％　ドイツ　５３％　日本　６７％　そして、インド　１９％

驚異的な数字のインドは、２０２５年には世界最多の人口となる予測です。
ただし、インドでは中学に入る前に４６％が退学してしまいます。
さらに、ダリットの家庭は、元々、学校に行けない児童が多いのです。

ＣＯＲインドでは、ユース・リトリートを毎年開催します。
今年は、平日にも関わらず多くの若者が、この集会に参加しました。

この若者たちこそ、この国の希望なのです。
通常、子ども生まれたなら、親は、その子が成長するまで、愛情も、時間も、お金も惜しまずに与えるはずです。
神の家でも、キリスト者としての成長を願い、惜しまずに与え続けるのです。
そして、子どもを自立させてこそ、その親は良い評価を受けるはずです。

箴言　２２章６節

This is mine

When I went to McDonald with my wife, two boys screamed, “This is mine!”“No. It’s mine!” while their mother ordered their hamburgers, one of them started crying. The mother went to their table and said, “What are you doing?” The crying boy said, “This is mine but he took it.” and kept crying. The mother said, “You have two toys and both of them are the same so don’t cry.” These two boys had exactly the same toys.

Why do people look other people’s thing attractive and want to have it?

The Bible teaches us the true abundance is to be satisfied with the way you are and be thankful in everything. Why can’t people let go off the thing when they think it is theirs?

Jesus talked to disciples that he who finds his life will lose it and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. God is the one who gives us the true abundance and eternal life.

Mathew 10:39

Let me gain a heart of wisdom

In Ephesians, it says the spirit of wisdom and revelation to know God is given by the Holy Spirit. This wisdom is the most important and the first priority. Sometimes we need to have wisdom in our life.

When we go abroad, we think convenience, comfort, and reduction of waste. In India, there are some types of outlet but they are different even within the same state or city. Whenever we go to India, we travel to different countries, so we have to bring several types of conversion plug.

This photo is a conversion plug which is able to match any outlets all over the world. If you have it, you can use it anywhere in the world depends on the combination.

Shortage, inconvenience, and limitation are not minus in our life because we can ask wisdom at that time. Godly man asked the Lord, “Let me gain a heart of wisdom.”

My enemy

This photo is my leg in India. (I’m sorry that I showed you an awful photo.)

Whenever I go there, I get mosquito bites or bug bites more than 10 times. In India, there are several diseases, such as deadly dengue fever, chicken gunia, malaria which everyone experiences, and so on. I was protected by a shield of prayer, so I’ve never had these diseases. Indian people is wondering why I’m always wrestling against mosquitoes because it’s waste of time to run after them.

I told COR pastors in India not to throw away leftovers or garbage on the road. This is a strange teaching for them because they had never heard of it. Although I wrestle against mosquitoes, it’s meaningless if I can’t eradicate the root of them behind.

The Bible says we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. It means the one that we have to wrestle against is not people but the power of darkness behind. It has the important meaning in our life and God’s armors which guide us to the victory are given to believers.

Ephesians 6:12~13

A restaurant overlooking an ocean

When my wife and I went to Hakodate city after so long, we had dinner with Michael who is a missionary from America and my best friend at a restaurant overlooking an ocean. Last year he suffered from leukemia but he recovered with remarkable speed and returned to normal life.

When Michael and I used to go to the same church, we had prayer time together every week. (Sadly to say, this church doesn’t exist anymore.) Since, I had just been saved, I learned and experienced many things from that time. Satan tried to break our relationship with a deceit and confusion but God protected our relationship.

3 of us talked about the Lord’s work which we had experienced and we had a wonderful time. Nice view and delicious Italian food were just an appetizer in front of wonderfulness of the Lord.

Psalm 34:8

信仰と過信

みなさんは足利（あしかが）事件を憶えているでしょうか。
この事件は、冤罪について、捜査方法について、DNA鑑定について様々な物議をかもしだしました。
１９９１年に逮捕され、２００９年に釈放されるまでの時間を失った菅家さんと、１９９０年に女児を失った遺族双方にとって悲しい出来事でした。

人間は、自分の判断や学術的な見地を、絶対と思うことがあります。
今回の事件は、幾つかの過信が重なった悲劇と言えるでしょう。

本当の信仰とは、目が見たことのないもの、耳が聞いたことのないもの、心に思い浮かんだことのないものであり（Ⅰコリント２：９）それを示して下さる方も、この世は受け入れることができない（ヨハネ１４：１７）のです。

教会も、人間の解釈や神学、目に見える組織等に信頼する時、同じ過ちを犯すことを歴史が証明しています。
私たちが、どんな場面、どんな時代にも、「主よ、お語りください。」と心から求めるなら、主は教え、導いて下さる御方なのです。

神の愚かさは人よりも賢く、神の弱さは人よりも強い

コリント人への手紙第一　１章２５節

多種多様の～

インドネシアでは、歩道の未整備を痛感します。
年中、暑いこともありますが、歩いている人をほとんど見かけません。

では、何が日常の足代わりかと言うと、これがユニークかつ多様です。
写真は、ベチャと呼ばれる三輪自転車です。
バイクにベチャが付いたものが、ベチャマシーン、スクーターの三輪車バジャイ（インドのオートリキシャ）、さらに、バイクタクシー、ミニバス、タクシーに、馬車とバラエティに富んでいます。
（これが、インドなら野良ラクダや野良ロバが加わります）

この国の経済力は、東南アジア内でも低い方ですが、お金持ちは運転手つきの高級外車で、貧しい人は、ベチャか馬車（交渉次第）とライフスタイルに合った選択が可能です。

一般的に、日本人は総中流意識と呼ばれています。
他者と異なることを常に意識する国民性は、各自が個性的であることを嫌います。
これが、低所得者や社会的弱者にとって、生きることが困難な社会を生み出す原因のひとつとなります。

果たして、みんなと同じでなければならない理由はあるのでしょうか？
他人がどうであれ、あなたはあなた、わたしはわたしでは何が悪いのでしょう。

神様は、全ての人を世界でたった一人、オリジナルの存在として造られました。
考え方も、ライフスタイルも、持ち物も乗り物も多様で良いのです。

他者との比較や周りに合わせる生き方から、神の子どもらしく、自分らしく生きる人生へと変えられる。
それは、信仰を得て、御霊によって歩む者にふさわしい生き方です。

ガラテヤ人への手紙　３章２６節

これ、僕のもの

妻とマクドナルドに行ったときの出来事です。

「これ僕のだ－！」「ちがう！お・れ・の」お母さんがオーダーをしている間に二人の男の子が大声で叫び、一人の子は泣きだしました。　
母親が戻り、「何をしているの！」と言うと、一人の子が「僕のものなのに、とった！」と泣き続けます。
「どっちでも同じでしょ、そんなことで泣かないの」この二人の男の子は、全く同じおもちゃを持っていたのです。　

なぜ、人は、他人のものが魅力的に見え、それを欲しがるのでしょうか？
～聖書は、こう教えてくれます～
本当の豊かさとは、今の自分の状態で満たされ、感謝できる人にあること。

なぜ、人は、自分のものであると思うとそれを手放せなくなるのでしょうか？
～イエス様は、弟子に語られました～
自分のいのちを自分のものとした者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分のいのちを失った者は、それを自分のものとします。

神様は、人生に本当の豊かさを、また、永遠のいのちを与えてくださる御方です。

マタイの福音書１０章３９節

知恵を得させてください

エペソ人への手紙では、神様を知るための知恵と啓示は、聖霊様によって与えられると書かれています。
この知恵は、何よりも重要であり、最優先に求めるものです。

また、人はその人生においても、知恵が必要な場面に出会います。

海外に行く機会が増えると、便利さ、快適さ、無駄を省くことを考えます。
インドには、複数のコンセントの形があるのですが、それは、同じ州、同じ市内でも、異なる形状があるうえに、乗り継ぎの国を含めると多くの変換プラグを持たなければなりませんでした。

上の写真は、世界中のコンセントに対応できる変換プラグです。
これひとつあれば、組み合わせ方によって、幾つもの形状になるのです。

人生の歩みのなかで、不足や不自由、制限を感じることは、決してマイナスではありません。
なぜなら、その時にこそ、人は知恵を求めるのです。

神の人は、主に「心に知恵を得させてください」と祈ったのです。

詩篇 ９０篇１２節

マイ・エネミー

これは、インド滞在中の足の状態です。
（ひどい写真をアップしてすみません。）
毎回、最低１０か所以上は、蚊や虫に刺されます。
インドでは、命にかかわる天狗熱、チキン・グニヤ、誰でも経験すると言われるマラリヤなど多数の病気があります。
幸いなことに、祈りの盾で守られて、一度も発症したことはありません。

インド人には、僕がいつも蚊と戦っている様子は、とても不思議に見えるようです。
なぜなら、どんなに蚊を追いかけても無駄なことだからです。
そこで、ＣＯＲインドの牧師に、食べ物の残りやゴミを道端に捨てないことを教えました。

これは、彼らにとって、初めて聞く奇妙な教えです。
しかし、いくら蚊を相手にして戦っても、その背後にある原因を絶たなければ、意味がありません。

聖書には、私たちの戦いは、血肉に対するものではないと書かれています。
つまり、争う対象は人ではなく、背後にある暗闇の力なのです。
これは、人生において重大な意味を持っています。
そして、信じる者には、勝利に導いてくれる、神の武具が与えられるのです。
