God is our refuge

When I was in a plane at Sendai airport on 7th of Dec., the aircraft was bouncing on airstrip. Cabin attendants changed their expression and the aircraft started to return to the terminal. The boarding bridge was connected to the aircraft and ground workers were getting agitated. They were shouting, “Tsunami alert was issued. Please move to the inside of the terminal right away.” Passengers were getting flustered. Some people were calling to their family and some people were unsettled.

I came to Sendai to see God’s family. I heard wonderful testimonies and underlined my newfound resolve. Although many people were uneasy, I had peace in my heart so I called my wife and said not to worry about me.

We don’t know what will happen tomorrow but God is our perfect refuge.

Psalm 46:1~3

The one how gives hope

This year is the 30th anniversary for Hope Chapel Ministry. This photo was taken at a restaurant where we had a dinner with Pastor Ralph and pastors in Japan. Pastor Ralph felt dizzy because of the time difference and he would move to a mission field on the next day so I suppose he wanted to take a rest.

I received a new “HOPE” from Pastor Ralph who values friendship.

To new year

There were more than 500 baptized people last year. This has been the biggest number since COR ministry had started. People can’t believe what we haven’t seen yet but it’s possible by the Holy Spirit touches our heart.

When we have big responsibility, we feel pressure or anxiety. However, Christians can rely on the power of the Lord and the Holy Spirit. We move forward with expectation toward almighty God this year as well.

1 Corinthians 2:4

No matter what happens

The year 2012 had passed and we will have a new year. God’s family had these things in 2012.
Had a surgery for breast cancer.
Had a surgery for aneurism.
Had a surgery for bowel cancer.
Finished a journey for 84 years and went up to heaven.
Experienced some trials and sorrow.
David said, “No matter happens, rely on God.” Psalm 62:8

Also, these things happened in 2012.
Evangelized at a hospital room after a surgery.
Was released from medical addiction.
Shared the gospel at a memorial service.
New pastors and new churches were born.
The Lord said, “my grace is enough for you.” because my power is shown perfectly in weakness.2 Corinthians 12:9

I praise the Lord for this year.

Psalm 62:5~8

Be faithful to small things

My mother is 7? years old but she is still driving a car and working. A new car she bought in 1999 was retired earlier than her. She made a promised to drive a car only for 2 more years and bought a second hand minivan. The Suzuki car is famous for outdated and unfashionable but some parts of standard car are used, it has a quality to last long, and it is the best for winter. Car parts developed for minivan are used for a small car at first class manufacturer and ideas for cost-cuttings is completely opposite. Many people in Japan chose a car because of its design but basic design is important to last long.

The Bible says the one who is faithful to small things is faithful to big things. The Lord gives big responsibility to the one who is faithful to out-of-sight or trivial things. Values in this visible world and values in God’s kingdom are sometimes different. By whom do you want to be estimated in your life?
